June Meeting Recap...

Posted by Frederick J Seitz III on June 28, 2013 at 9:40 PM
Last night's meeting at the museum was a good one.  In addition to Bill Koppos' clinic on how he uses Valieo paints to great effect, there were a few new faces in attendance.
I would like to extend a warm welcome to Bill Stratemeier, who is new to our little crew, and also to former, and returning, long time Suffolk Scale Model Club members Artie Sinteff and his wife Karen.

We went through our usual "Show and Tell", and there were several well built models on the table.

Steve Martens came down, and it was really great to see him.  Steve was injured in an accident while on a road crew a few months back.  During his recovery time in the hospital and at home he's been very busy building and has knocked a tremendous amount of kits out!!!

Lastly and on the sad note, I have to report on the passing on a former and long time member of the Suffolk scale Model Club from when we were back in Blue Point. Mike Battaglia passed away yesterday morning at about 6:30 AM, after a long bout with cancer.
Mike was always building and was the kind of modeler who, when someone would ask for his help, always stood ready to lend a hand, sharing his expertise with anyone who needed it.  He built everything from aircraft to Sci-Fi, and he built them well.  We'll miss you Mike.

Next meeting will be on Thursday, 25 July, 2013.

There was some discussion about shutting the club down for the summer months and honestly I really don't like doing that.  I know the place can be hot and uncomfortable but I really want to keep it going year round and I'll be there to open the place up.

See you in July folks!!
